ABOUT US
Pub Grub.
Done Right.
We love sports…
but we’re not a sports bar.
We love live music…
but we’re not music venue (although, we do have live music..)
We love beer…
but we’re not a brewery (Yet! More on that, later...)
We love food, too. . .
It’s our passion, really. Our genuine appreciation for a quality meal is emphasized through the skill of our from-scratch kitchen and our tenacious work ethic. It’s the same kind of dependability we grew up around in Wisconsin that we bring to the mountains of North Carolina. You can count on us to always provide you with good food and good beer in a friendly, casual, neighborhood atmosphere.
Once you discover Foggy Mountain Brew Pub, you’ll find “pub grub, done right”, as we like to call it, because we stay great at the basics and it shows in our craft.
ON THE BREWERY
When we first opened Foggy Mountain Brew Pub we had planned on installing a 10-gallon micro-brew system shortly after opening. However, our kitchen quickly outgrew our location before our opportunity to begin brewing operations. It’s still on the road-map for Foggy Mountain Brew Pub, one day. Until then, stop in and try our award-winning wings!
ABOUT THE FOUNDERS
Chris Kronberg grew up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, spending much of his time in a kitchen in the home and at work. He was always curious about the many aspects of cooking and it inspired to learn from an early age. He found himself working in a kitchen by fifteen, developing new techniques and refining his talent for making high quality cuisine. Working in a kitchen, as well as a bartender in his early 20's, his passion for cooking quickly turned from a hobby into a career when he was tasked with successfully reviving a dying restaurant - an opportunity which helped him learn and grow into the business responsibilities of restaurant management.
However, his success could not go without attributed assistance from his wife, Samantha Kronberg. Growing up in Oshkosh as well, Sam was also exposed to working in restaurants from an early age. Spending much of her early career learning the in's and out's of restaurant and bar management, she and her husband's complimentary skill-sets have lead to establish themselves as successful family-operated business owners. Lastly, the success of Foggy Mountain can not go unnoticed without recognition to their third owner - one of the most skilled restaurant managers that Asheville has to offer, Rachel Goodman, who helped build the business from the ground up.
Chris, Sam and Rachel always knew they wanted to do things differently. Many restaurants were missing the character and dynamic that customers look for in their favorite local establishment - and with help and guidance along the way - Chris, Sam and Rachel founded Foggy Mountain Brew Pub to shape their vision into a reality: To serve good food and good beer in a casual and friendly neighborhood bar, just like the ones that are a staple of Wisconsin lifestyle.
